Administration & Management Programs @ Ohio University

Ohio University Lifelong Learning offers a variety of innovative and alternative educational opportunities and experiences, extending the services of Ohio University to learners of all ages throughout the world. Many programs can be made available to an international audience in a blended format, combining online instruction with face-to-face interaction onsite and/or through a small number of intensive residencies at our campus in Athens, Ohio. Among the programs available are the Administration and Management options outlined here. FINANCIAL ECONOMICS (MSE, FINANCIAL TRACK )
Offered by the Department of Economics in collaboration with the College of Business, Department of Finance and School of Accountancy, the program prepares students for careers in the financial services industries, by developing practical skills in the areas of economics, finance and accounting.

MASTER OF COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY AND POLICY (MCTP)
A professional interdisciplinary networking degree focusing on the technical, management, policy, and strategic issues related to telecommunication and information technologies, systems and services. Ideal for students interested in MIS, IT, computer science, business administration, and public policy. The degree can be completed in one year.

MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (MPA)
A professional degree intended to prepare graduate students for careers in government service or non-profit administration. The core curriculum focuses on organization and human resource management, methodology, policy and fiscal analysis, and strategic management, and includes a required internship or practicum.

ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT (MS-IMSE)
A specialization of the Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering, this program helps individuals develop and strengthen skills in technology management. Ideal undergraduate degrees in technical fields who wish to learn how to manage engineers, scientists, and technologists. Courses include quality systems, communication, information technology, and systems engineering.

MASTER OF HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (MHA)
This program prepares students for entry-level and mid-level management positions within the field of health administration. The degree can either stand alone, or be combined with the MBA degree, and includes an extensive administrative internship component.

MASTER OF SPORTS ADMINISTRATION (MSA)
Prepares students for leadership positions in the sport and entertainment industries. Most students choose to concentrate on communications, higher education, journalism, management, marketing, and/or facility management.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS, MANAGEMENT SPECIALIZATION (MA)
The School of Telecommunications offers a specialization in Management for students interested in the business side of telecommunications.

MASTER OF ARTS IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (MAIA)
Programs are centered on an interdisciplinary curriculum that combines the traditional foundations of the social sciences and the humanities with strategic linkages to all of Ohio University's professional colleges. Some students choose business as the thematic focus of their studies within African Studies, Communication and Development Studies, International Development Studies, Latin American Studies or Southeast Asian Studies, and may choose to complete an MBA as well.

MASTER OF LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION (MLEA)
Provides graduate level professional education for individuals currently employed or who desire employment in the finance, business, technology or related departments of K-12 school districts, technical or vocational schools, colleges and universities, and governmental agencies.
